KWF Team

The Kyogle Writers Festival is a community lead event, made possible by a core group of volunteers who form the organising committee. They dedicate their time, year-round, to make the festival possible. They are joined by a willing team of fabulous volunteers, who come on board in the weeks leading up to the festival to get the show on the road.

Why are you involved with the festival?
I was approached to run an event at KWF2021 and things ballooned from there. I am passionate about story-telling and community building, two things that intersect beautifully through KWF. Also getting to pick authors to visit our town feels like a lo-fi version of guest programming ‘Rage’ – which is a bit of a thrill.

What are you most excited about for KWF 2022?
Having the amazing Mandy Beaumont back for another year to showcase her debut novel ’The Furies’, and catching up with everyone who was a part of last years fest

Why are you involved with the festival?
The Writers Festival is such a fabulous way of diversifying and enriching the cultural landscape of Kyogle and surrounding districts. It’s fantastic to be a part of a community-driven event that creates opportunities for people to come together, engage with writers and share ideas.

What are you most excited about for KWF 2022?
The fantastic diversity of writers and poets who will be coming into Kyogle for a few days to create magic.

Why are you involved with the festival?
Because I love a good story, and Kyogle having its very own writers fest is a darn good plot line to play a small part in.

What are you most excited about for KWF 2022?
The words. The people. The buzzing vibe in our lovely little town.

Why are you involved with the festival?
I think the Kyogle Writers Festival is such a great event for our town. It brings in so much talent and raises the voices of so many locals as well. The 2021 KWF showed me what is possible to create when you are passionate and put your mind to something! I want to support it so it can continue for many years to come.

What are you most excited about for KWF 2022?
The chai! I have a huge love for chai and have thankfully been supported to bring my vision of a Chai & Chill space to the festival so that patrons can find somewhere comfortable to sit, relax and enjoy a delicious mug of chai and sweet treat.

Community engagement in public life – in all its forms – is of deep interest to me. KWF provides plenty of these opportunities

What are you most excited about for KWF 2022?
The expanding program with a good range of interests provided for. And community engagement.
